Murano Faro 4177 carries the magic of light and history: a candle holder made from reclaimed Venice “briccola” wood and scrap Murano glass that can hold either a traditional candle or a tealight.

The base of the candle holder is made of 3 pieces held together by micro magnets that can be detached to become 3 smaller candle holders. (2 for tealights and 1 for a traditional candle or tealight).

Products with Stories

These objects also serve as a bridge between past and future generations, telling a story of Venetian culture, tradition, and excellence.

Circular Economy

Pieces of Venice is a social enterprise with a circular economy model and a short supply chain. We begin with the recovery and recycling of discarded materials from Venice, and through industrial design, we give them new life as souvenirs and practical items.

Alberto Toso Fei narrates...

“With its bright path that lights up every six seconds, it guides boats to safely enter the lagoon and is a reliable reference point in the night for those who dare the sea’s dangers, providing a safe harbor in Venice.

The Murano lighthouse is all of this, but also more: at 32 meters, it is the tallest on the entire lagoon perimeter, and there has been a lighthouse on the island since the times of the Serenissima; a wooden tower used as a lookout during the day, where fires were lit at night, reflected by mirrors.
Nothing remains of that structure. The current lighthouse, built in 1934 entirely from Istrian stone, replaced a large iron mast erected in 1912, which housed an oil lamp lit each night by a keeper. Later came gas and electricity.

The Murano lighthouse emits a beam of white light that can reach up to 17 miles, allowing ships entering through the San Nicolò channel to align safely. Its dome, entirely made of glass, illuminates the night, and is thus a bright promise of arrival”.
