“One Saturday morning, sitting at a café over coffee, Karin and Luciano spoke to me with such enthusiasm about the Pieces of Venice project. I couldn’t resist—I, too, wanted to be part of that excitement and a project for Venice, with pieces of Venice itself, so I asked if I could design something.
It was fun, stimulating, and sentimental. I’ve lived, studied, and worked in Venice for 20 years, a place I feel is my city more than any other. I thought of walking and getting lost—yes, even after a long time in Venice, one can still get lost—and discovering unexplored corners—yes, there are always hidden spots. So, I envisioned wandering through the streets, under the sun and in the fog.”
