Karin Friebel

Karin is of German descent, but she was born and raised near Venice, the one city she’s always ready to revisit. Initially, she pursued administrative studies but decided to specialize in foreign trade, thanks to the languages she knew and thanks her father, who introduced her to international transactions at a very young age. For many years she was a sales manager in the furniture production world, after which she worked with Alberto Martinuzzo, known for his innovative “Flexible Wood” technology, for 6 years, embracing innovative architecture and designers experimenting both with wood and with many other unique materials. In 2016, she heard Luciano Marson speak about the Pieces of Venice project, and she fell in love (with both the man and the initiative!), so much so that she gave her whole heart to this entrepreneurial adventure, becoming its president and CEO. In this way she has realized her dream of finding the love of her life and sharing with Luciano the values of Environmental and Social sustainability in a business project born out of love for Venice, design, materials and those who are less fortunate… values recognized by the Compasso d’Oro awarded in September of 2020.

Easy Returns

At Pieces of Venice, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. That's why we offer easy returns if you’re not happy with your product.

Products with Stories

These objects also serve as a bridge between past and future generations, telling a story of Venetian culture, tradition, and excellence.

Circular Economy

Pieces of Venice is a social enterprise with a circular economy model and a short supply chain. We begin with the recovery and recycling of discarded materials from Venice, and through industrial design, we give them new life as souvenirs and practical items.
