When Pieces of Venicestarted, we wanted our project to be a circular economy project not only aimed at environmental sustainability, but also and above all at social sustainability.
We wanted a new way of doing business that looked not only at profit, but at the environment and above all at improving people’s quality of life; a mix between profit and non-profit that promotes social responsibility beyond profit in order to create more value, a virtuous network. We want to try and change the world into a better place for our children.
So, instead of choosing conventional suppliers for our souvenirs and design objects from Venice, we decided to allocate most of our work to the Cooperativa Sociale Futura, which creates and promotes opportunities for social and work inclusion for adults with physical and/or mental disabilities orotherwise disadvantaged and who need new opportunities to improve their lives.
.
This splendid cooperative organizes spaces, work environments and occasions with the goal of offering each person a way or a place to get involved, to try out their skills, to reinvent themselves and start writing a new story.
Futura is a social workplace that offers growth, experience and jobs. They welcome people and the resources they bring with them, channeling them into individualized pathways.
The goal is to achieve the best state of well-being for each individual and offer each person a way or place to get involved, to try out their skills, to reinvent themselves and start writing a new story.
Over time, they have expanded and refined their job-placement service and the work has taken on an important identity value.
This is why the FUTURA FACTORY was established — an inclusive factory that was officially inaugurated on 16 October 2020 — an entire production facility dedicated to manufacturing and services for companies.
In fact, companies can support the project with donations or by commissioning orders and entering into partnerships – like we did – for assembly, sanding, oiling, branding, packaging, printing, storage and logistics … as of today, over 70% of our processes are carried out by these workers!

Futura’s President, Gianluca Pavan, reminds us:
“together we have the opportunity to create a new way of looking at wealth, not only in economic terms, but also in social terms.”
This is the spirit that characterizes the Futura FACTORY, an inclusive workplace for the disabled and disadvantaged that encompasses various sectors including: assembly, graphics and communication, printing and set up, as well as packaging.
Since our company was established, we’ve relied on the support of Futura Coop Sociale ONLUS, which is now our number one supplier or, as we like to call them, our first “Travel Companions”!
When the Pieces of Venice project first started in 2017, the feeling that triggered the start-up was the deep love that connected Luciano and Karin – the founding members – to Venice. Luciano Marson designed the first item, Elica, which kicked off this original collection and captivated the admiration and participation of a team of …
