The Acqua Alta bookshop is characterized by its creative use of ruined books earmarked for pulping.
They’ve used these books to construct a staircase that you can climb to enjoy a view of the canal and the building in which Hugo Pratt set one of his Corto Maltese stories.
A bookshop at number 5176/B in the Castello district in which you’ll find Venice enclosed in a microcosm made of books but also much more: gondolas, canoes and the basins which contain them, to protect yourself from the acqua alta or ‘high water’.
You’ll also find cats wandering about undisturbed and a window overlooking the canal with chairs and a sofa from which you can watch the spectacle of the rising tide.
These bookmarks are special memories of Venice and original eco-friendly gifts.
