Luciano Marson

He studied to be an administrator, is a businessman by vocation, matured into an entrepreneur and became a designer along the way. He was born on 9 June 1953 near Venice where he currently resides.
After graduating, between 1972 and 1978 he worked as an accountant, then moved on to work in the sales arena in the furniture industry. In 1978 he began working for himself as a salesman and, over the years, he fell in love with good design, working with Ciatti, Elam, Pallucco, Triangolo and finally with De Padova.At De Padova, he worked as an agent and consultant for the General Management from 1984 to 1996, interfacing directly with Maddalena De Padova and frequenting designers such as Vico Magistretti and Achille Castiglioni; during these years his aesthetic tastes matured and refined.At the same time, from 1987 to 1996 he founded and managed a PR agency in Milan, Marson è, which had clients like Bulthaup Italia, Horm, Montis, Palazzetti and Valcucine.In 1989, together with other partners, he founded Horm srl, taking on the position of CEO and creative director. Since 2000 he has intensified his collaboration with great architects and designers including: Alvaro Siza, Mario Botta, Toyo Ito, Steven Holl, Karim Rashid, D’urbino Lomazzi, Mario Bellini, Toshiyuki Kita, SANAA, and Kengo Kuma, Ross Lovegrove; several of them have become personal friends with whom he maintains an ongoing rapport.
In 1998 he was awarded the Compasso D’Oro for graphics while as CEO of Horm he received another two Compasso D’Oro awards: in 2004 for Ripples and in 2008 for the stand at the Salone del Mobile built in 2005. From 2010 to 2012 he was a consultant to the General Management of Albini and Fontanot S.p.a. Currently he is a consultant for Bross, co-owner of Wlegno, Pieces of Venice of which he is also the Creative Director.
